18 inch tall Applejack Heart by EthePony 18 inch tall Applejack Heart by EthePony
Earlier, I tested how big of a square design I could do, but I wanted to test the absolute maximum size of anything I could do on my new embroidery machine. I can go substantially longer in one direction, so I picked AJ, done as a heart patch due to the ratio between length and width. AJ is a full 18 inches tall, and has well over a quarter million stitches. A comparison to a normal 4 inch tall patch is here: [link]

:iconkawaiirose: commissioned :iconbamboodog: and I more than a year ago, and I finally finished them. Obviously, based upon the originator of the heart ponies, :iconbamboodog: and done with permission.

Ho-ly heck. This is unbelievable. I am floored both by the quantity and the necessary cost of the required machine.

Jesus, that thing is friggin' enormous. You could spread that over a whole jersey or something. Not even asking to buy, but how much does it cost you to make one of those? Must use a ton of material.

I'm not sure actually, I haven't made enough on my new machine to figure out all the costs, but so far, it is looking like around $80. That's a lot, but less than the ~$250 it would cost if I had rented time on a commercial machine instead of buying one outright.
